Roach Energy sells and installs premium gas (and electronic) hearth products.
Is there anything better than a roaring fireplace on a late fall evening? You can cuddle up on the couch, sip a pumpkin-spiced beverage and let the relaxation wash over you.
Of course, relaxing with a wood-burning fireplace is not always easy. You must carry logs into your home and get down on your hands and knees to light the fire. And as cozy as you might be under your favorite throw, you’ll have to keep getting back up to add wood and adjust the logs with a poker. As the night draws to a close, your work is far from over. Leaving live embers and smoldering logs in a home hearth is a safety issue. You’ll need to stay up until the last live coals go out.
Additionally, burning wood in your home presents a host of health risks, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The major concern is fine particulate matter, tiny solids that can enter your lungs and cause “bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma, or other serious respiratory diseases.”
Luckily, Roach Energy offers households in Berkeley, Morgan, Jefferson, and Washington counties a fantastic alternative that offers all the comfort of a wood fire with none of the health risks or hard work — a propane fireplace insert.
Advantages of a Propane Fireplace Product
There are some fantastic advantages to adding a propane hearth product to your home.
Convenience — You can control the flames on your hearth product remotely without ever getting off the sofa.
Versatility — There are gas-fired options for every type of home. You can add an insert to your existing hearth or install a freestanding fireplace or stove.
Safety — You don’t have to worry about loose logs or embers creating fire hazards in your living space.
Air quality — Propane burns effectively. It contains zero methane and emits virtually no particulate matter.
Vented vs. Vent-Free Fireplace Products
When selecting a gas-fired indoor fire feature, you will need to determine if you need a direct-vent or vent-free product.
Direct-vent fireplaces provide a more realistic flame, but you’ll lose some heating efficiency since much of the generated heat is lost through your chimney or flue.
By contrast, vent-free fireplaces give you greater heating efficiency, but their flames tend to be smaller and less realistic. Please also remember that there are restrictions on where you can place vent-free fireplaces and gas logs. Since they vent combustion by-products into the room, you cannot put them in bedrooms or enclosed areas like bathrooms. Some municipalities prohibit them altogether. We can help you find the right propane hearth product for your home.
