Organizing and Storing Your Grill Tanks

Generally, propane grills use 20-pound portable propane cylinders. These containers are available at pretty much all propane cylinder exchanges. Tips for Transporting Grill Tanks

Firstly, grillers in the Eastern Panhandle can safely and conveniently exchange and refill their portable tanks at Roach Energy’s cylinder tank locations. It’s crucial that you follow these safety guidelines when transporting grill tanks and other portable propane cylinders:

Concerning Wear and Tear on Propane Cylinders

The Department of Transportation requires regular inspections and requalification of portable propane tanks to ensure safety. In most cases, tanks must be requalified 12 years after their manufacture date and every five years after that.

If your tank shows signs of damage, such as dents or excessive corrosion, please have it inspected by your propane provider immediately.

It’s also important to avoid attempting any modifications or repairs to valves, regulators, or other propane cylinder or appliance components yourself — always leave that to the professionals.

You can rest assured that any propane cylinders you receive from one of our exchanges have been safety-tested and are fully qualified for use.
