Trouble Paying Your Heating Bill? Help Is Available
At Roach Energy, we do all we can to take the stress out of heating season, with convenient services and easy ways to pay for your heating oil or propane.
But sometimes bill paying can be a challenge – if you have recently lost a job, for example, or if you’re struggling to make ends meet in your West Virginia home. That’s especially true this year.
If you think you will have trouble paying your heating bill this winter, help is available. The following agencies are ready to lend assistance:
WV LIEAP – The Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) assists eligible households with the cost of home heating through direct cash payments or payments to utility companies on their behalf. A crisis component is available for households without resources facing the loss of a heating source. Eligibility for both program components is based on a combination of factors, including income, type of heating payment, and total heating costs. To learn more, visit the West Virginia Health & Human Resources website.
Warming Hands & Hearts – A joint effort between Roach Energy and United Way, Warming Hands and Hearts goes beyond financial assistance by providing a case manager to contact the utility company on your behalf. Negotiated payment arrangements and financial management information are also provided. To learn more, call (304) 263-0603.
Telamon – Nonprofit organization that provides education and support services to promote housing and financial empowerment. To learn more, visit the Telamon website.
Jefferson County Community Ministries (JCCM) – Offers limited financial assistance for basic necessities, including food and fuel. To learn more, visit the JCCM website.
